The IRDAI has notified the IRDAI (Bima Sugam – Insurance Electronic Marketplace) Regulations, 2024. The objective is to empower and protect the interests of policyholders, increase the penetration of insurance in India and enhance accessibility by allowing the establishment of a Digital Public Infrastructure called Bima Sugam – Insurance Electronic Marketplace. This infrastructure must be established by a not-for-profit company formed u/s 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.
