SEBI suspends fresh trading in derivative contracts in seven commodities

PR- 36/2021, Dated: 20-12-2021

The SEBI has issued directions to Stock Exchanges having Commodity Derivatives Segment regarding trading in derivative contracts in The Paddy, Wheat, Soya bean and its derivatives, Crude palm oil, Moong that no new order shall be launched till further orders. Regarding running contracts, no new position will be allowed to be taken. Only squaring up of position will be allowed, clarified SEBI. These directions will be implemented with immediate effect and are applicable for one year.
