Circular No: SEBI/HO/MRD2/DCAP/P/CIR/2022/60 dated 10.05.2022
SEBI had earlier issued framework to enable verification of upfront collection of margins from clients in cash, derivatives segments. On the basis of the representation received, the SEBI has decided that margin requirements for intra-day snapshots, in derivatives segments (including commodity derivatives) shall be calculated based on fixed Beginning of Day (BOD) margin parameters. The SEBI however, clarified that this change is only for verification purpose of upfront collection of margins from clients and the margin parameters applicable for collection of margin obligation by Clearing Corporations would continue to be updated intra-day, as per the extant provisions.
