SEBI has released a consultation paper on the process for appointing specific KMPs of Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) and the cooling-off period for KMPs. This is done to strengthen the governance framework of MIIs. SEBI has proposed that MIIs must adopt and implement a policy approved by its governing board prescribing a minimum cooling-off period for KMPs (including MD) and their directors before joining a competing MII. Comments may be submitted by December 12, 2024.
