SEBI Kargil Vijay Diwas Wreath laying ceremony Tuhin Kanta Pandey SEBI Chairman

PR No. 47/2025 ; Dated: 26.07.2025

On the solemn occasion of the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) paid tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces. The Chairman of SEBI, Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, led a dignified wreath-laying ceremony at SEBI’s Head Office in BKC, Bandra. The event was held to commemorate the heroes of the Kargil War of 1999, who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. Officials and staff members gathered to honour the indomitable courage and unwavering dedication of the soldiers who defended India’s sovereignty.

The ceremony was a deeply moving tribute that underscored SEBI’s respect for the Armed Forces. With floral offerings and a moment of silence, the event reflected the collective gratitude of the SEBI family towards those who made the supreme sacrifice. The presence of Chairman Pandey at the helm of the ceremony highlighted the regulator’s strong institutional commitment to remembering India’s war heroes, not just through symbolic gestures but through fostering a deeper sense of national pride and solidarity.

Beyond its primary role as a capital markets regulator, SEBI continues to embrace its responsibilities towards the nation in a broader sense. The observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas within the organisation demonstrates SEBI’s engagement in national events and its recognition of the armed forces’ contribution to maintaining the peace and stability essential for economic growth. It also reflects an institutional culture that values service, discipline, and patriotism—values that resonate strongly with both the defence and financial communities.

By commemorating such important milestones, SEBI also seeks to strengthen its ties with veterans and the wider security community. The ceremony served as a platform to remind all stakeholders of the shared duty to uphold democratic values and national unity. As India continues to progress on all fronts, institutions like SEBI reinforce the message that remembering the past and honouring those who safeguarded the nation is integral to building a stronger future.
