SEBI Expands Investment Options for InvITs’ Uninvested Funds in Latest Amendment

Notification No. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2025/243; Dated: 28.04.2025

SEBI has notified SEBI (Infrastructure Investment Trusts) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2025, expanding the scope of instruments where InvITs can deploy uninvested funds to include unlisted equity shares of a company, units of liquid mutual fund schemes and interest rate derivatives. Earlier, InvITs were permitted to invest in listed or unlisted debt of companies or body corporate in the infrastructure sector, equity shares of companies, government securities & money market instruments.
