SEBI has streamlined its panel of forensic auditors, reducing the number of firms from twenty to nine for investigating corporate fraud. The selected firms will serve for a three-year term. Deloitte is the only Big Four firm included, with KPMG, EY, and PwC absent. Other selected firms include BDO, Chokshi & Chokshi, CNK and Associates, Jain Chowdhary & Co, Pawan Puri and Associates, Raju & Prasad, Rajvanshi and Associates, and ATK & Associates. The selection process, initiated through a public tender, focused on criteria like team size, previous assignments, and individual partner experience. BDO, Chokshi & Chokshi, Rajvanshi and Associates, and Deloitte have been retained from the previous panel for their consistent performance. These firms will play a key role in enhancing corporate transparency and governance by conducting forensic audits of the financial statements of listed companies.
