In the recent past, there have been several global efforts to discourage multinational corporations from shifting their tax revenues to low-tax jurisdictions that enable them to escape higher taxes in the countries where these companies make major sales.
This article aims to analyse this global deal with respect to the loopholes of the present taxation system and the previously adopted models. The impact of the global move on tax havens and developing economies.
This article will further explore the potential systemic drawbacks of the move and the possible ways to overcome them for a practical implementation of the policy. While certain drawbacks of the minimum taxation deal have been discussed before, this article would address the measures that are required for a practical implementation of the deal for rectifying the taxation regime.
