Due Diligence of Aadhaar Enabled Payment System

Earlier, the RBI, in its Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies dated February 8, 2024, announced that the onboarding process of Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) Touchpoint Operators would be streamlined. Now, to protect bank customers from fraud and maintain trust and confidence in the system’s safety and security, the RBI has released draft directions on ‘Due Diligence of AePS Touchpoint Operators’. Comments may be submitted on or before August 31, 2024.
