RBI increases repo rate under LAF by 35 basis points to 6.25%

Press Release: 2022-2023/1320, Dated 07.12.2022
On the basis of an assessment of the macroeconomic situation, the Monetary Policy Committee, at its meeting today (07.12.2022) has decided to increases repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) by 35 basis points to 6.25 %. Consequently, the standing deposit facility (SDF) rate stands adjusted to 6.00 % and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate to 6.50 %.
Further, The MPC also decided to remain focused on withdrawal of accommodation to ensure that inflation remains within the target going forward, while supporting growth. Adequate consideration has been given to Global and Domestic Economy, Inflation, etc.
