The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has provided a one-time relaxation allowing companies to file Form DPT-3 (Return of Deposits) for the financial year ended 31 March 2026 without payment of additional fees up to 31 July 2026.
The relief has been granted to facilitate compliance in view of technical disruptions affecting the MCA filing system.
1. Form DPT-3 Filing Deadline Relaxed
Under the relaxation, companies may file Form DPT-3 for FY 2025-26 up to:
31 July 2026
without incurring any additional filing fees that would otherwise be applicable for delayed filing.
2. Reason for the Relaxation
The MCA has stated that the relaxation has been provided due to:
- Capacity enhancement activities at the MCA Data Centre; and
- Restoration measures undertaken following the fire incident of 05 June 2026.
These circumstances may have adversely affected the ability of companies to complete statutory filings within the prescribed timelines.
3. Relief Available on Additional Fees Only
The one-time measure specifically provides relief from the payment of additional fees for filing Form DPT-3 during the extended period.
Companies can therefore complete the filing without attracting late filing charges up to the revised date.
4. Applicability
The relaxation applies to:
- Companies required to file Form DPT-3 (Return of Deposits); and
- Filings relating to the financial year ended 31 March 2026.
5. Objective of the Relaxation
The MCA’s decision aims to:
- Mitigate hardship caused by system disruptions;
- Facilitate statutory compliance by companies;
- Provide adequate time for completion of DPT-3 filings; and
- Ensure smooth restoration of MCA filing services following the data centre incident.
6. Key Takeaway
Companies required to file Form DPT-3 for FY 2025-26 can now do so up to 31 July 2026 without payment of additional fees. The one-time relaxation has been granted by the MCA in view of capacity enhancement and restoration activities undertaken after the 05-06-2026 fire incident at the MCA Data Centre.
