The Central Government has appointed Justice (Retd.) Anupinder Singh Grewal, former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as the President of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
1. Tenure of Appointment
- He shall hold office for five years from the date of assumption of charge, or until attaining the age of 67 years
- Whichever is earlier
2. Pay Scale
The appointment carries:
- Pay scale of ₹80,000 (fixed) (pre-revised)
- Corresponding to:
-
- Level 17 – ₹2,25,000 in the pay matrix
- As per the 7th Central Pay Commission
3. Professional Background
Justice (Retd.) Anupinder Singh Grewal:
- Served as judge of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana
- Brings extensive experience in judicial administration and corporate law matters

The President of NCLT plays a key role in:
- Adjudication of corporate disputes, insolvency proceedings and company law matters under Companies Act and IBC framework
