IFSCA TechFin Amendment Regulations

The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has notified the IFSCA (TechFin and Ancillary Services) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026, introducing a dedicated regulatory framework for Trust and Company Service Providers (TCSPs).

1. Insertion of New Chapter

  • A new chapter relating to ‘Trust and Company Services Provider’
  • Has been inserted into the Regulations

2. Key Areas Covered under the New Framework

2.1 Mandatory Registration

  • Entities intending to operate as TCSPs must obtain registration from IFSCA

2.2 Permissible Services

  • The framework specifies services that may be undertaken by TCSPs
  • A separate schedule has been inserted detailing the list of permissible activities/services

2.3 Governance and Control

  • Norms have been prescribed relating to:
    1. Governance standards
    2. Management and control mechanisms

2.4 Principal Officer and Compliance Officer

  • TCSPs are required to appoint:
    1. A Principal Officer
    2. A Compliance Officer
  • To ensure regulatory compliance and operational oversight

3. Objective of the Amendment

The amendment aims to:

  • Create a structured regulatory framework for ancillary service providers in IFSCs
  • Enhance transparency, governance, and accountability
  • Promote international best practices in trust and corporate services
