IRDAI has notified the IRDAI (Insurance Advisory Committee) (Amendment) Regulations, 2025. A new regulation 5A w.r.t ‘resignation and removal of member from office’ has been inserted. It states that any member of the Insurance Advisory Committee may offer resignation by giving a notice in writing addressed to the Chairperson of the Authority, and such resignation must take effect from the date on which it is accepted. Also, the Authority may remove any member who is adjudged as an insolvent.
