1. Introduction
International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has notified the IFSCA (Performance Review Committee) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026, introducing changes to the governance framework of the Performance Review Committee.
2. Regulatory Background
The amendment has been issued vide Notification No. F. No. IFSCA/GN/2026/004 dated 05 January 2026 and amends the principal regulations governing the functioning of the Performance Review Committee of the Authority.
3. Amendment to Regulation on Committee Composition
A key amendment has been made to Regulation 3, which deals with the constitution and composition of the Performance Review Committee, strengthening its structure and independence.
4. Inclusion of Independent Experts
As per the amended provision, the Authority is now required to constitute a Performance Review Committee comprising at least two independent experts from relevant fields, nominated by the Board from a panel of names approved by the Chairperson.
5. Conclusion
The amendment aims to enhance objectivity, transparency, and expertise in the performance review process of the Authority, reinforcing robust governance standards within the IFSC regulatory framework.
