1. Notification of New Regulations
The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) has officially notified the IFSCA (TechFin and Ancillary Services) Regulations, 2025. These regulations establish a comprehensive framework to govern the operations of TechFins and Ancillary Service Providers within the IFSC ecosystem.
2. Objective and Scope
The primary objective of these regulations is to provide a regulatory framework for TechFins and Ancillary Service Providers that enables them to make appropriate arrangements for carrying out financial services as enumerated in Section 3 of the IFSCA Act, 2019. The scope includes service providers who enable, support, or facilitate the delivery of financial services through technological innovations.
3. Key Regulatory Provisions
3.1 Registration Norms
The regulations lay down the criteria and process for the registration of TechFin and Ancillary Service Providers with the IFSCA. Entities intending to offer services must meet eligibility requirements and submit necessary disclosures as prescribed.
3.2 Code of Conduct
Registered entities are required to adhere to a Code of Conduct that ensures transparency, fair practices, integrity, and protection of client interests while carrying out their operations.
3.3 Appointment of Key Personnel
To ensure proper oversight and accountability, the regulations mandate the appointment of:
- A Principal Officer is responsible for overall management and regulatory compliance.
- A Compliance Officer, tasked with ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by the IFSCA.
