The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the Multi-State Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2023. Various amendments have been made to the existing Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002. As per the amended norms, the definitions of “Co-operative Ombudsman’ and “Financial Year” have been inserted. Further, the application for registration shall now be disposed of by the Central Registrar within 3 months instead of 4 months. Also, several other changes have been notified.
