The Income-tax Department conducted a search and seizure operation in the case of some Government Contractors, Real estate developers and their Associates in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and New Delhi. A large number of incriminating evidence were found confirming bogus purchases, non-genuine claims of expenses with sub-contractors and ineligible expenses. Unaccounted cash and jewellery of Rs. 102 crores were seized.
