Stock brokers can now place bids on behalf of their clients in corporate bond market

Earlier, Request for Quote (RFQ) platform was introduced as a ‘participant-based’ model wherein all regulated entities, listed bodies corporate, institutional investors, registered Mutual Funds, Portfolio Management Services and all India financial institutions were eligible to register, access and transact. Now, SEBI has allowed stock brokers to place bids on behalf of their clients in corporate bond market. This circular will come into effect from January 01, 2023.
