The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced that Shri Sunil Jayawant Kadam has assumed charge as an Executive Director at SEBI’s headquarters in Mumbai.
1. Departments and Functions Under His Supervision
In his new role, Shri Kadam will oversee several key departments and functional areas within SEBI, including:
- Information Technology Department (ITD)
- Office of Investor Assistance and Education (OIAE)
- Department of Economic and Policy Analysis (DEPA)
- General Services Department (GSD)
- Board Cell
- RTI and Parliament Questions Cell
- Matters related to the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM)
These departments play a crucial role in ensuring SEBI’s smooth functioning, policy formulation, investor engagement, and regulatory transparency.
2. A Strategic Role in Strengthening SEBI’s Operations
As Executive Director, Shri Kadam’s leadership will be instrumental in:
- Driving digital transformation through the IT Department
- Enhancing investor outreach and grievance redressal
- Supporting data-driven policymaking
- Strengthening SEBI’s institutional processes and legislative interfaces
- Overseeing educational initiatives and capacity building through NISM
