SEBI Tweaks AIF Norms, Modifies the Norms w.r.t Demat Holding and Appointment of Custodian

NOTIFICATION NO. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2024/163

SEBI has modified the Alternative Investment Norms. An amendment has been made in Regulations 15 & 20. A new clause has been added in Regulation 15 which provides the list of situations where an AIF can hold the investment in a non-dematerialised form. This includes investments in instruments and liquidation schemes of AIFs that are not eligible for demat. Further, the norms regarding the appointment of custodians have also been modified.
