SEBI restricts NCDEX from launching new mustard seed contracts

Press Release No. PR No.29/2021, Dated 11.10.2021

With a view to curbing soaring mustard oil prices, the SEBI has issued Directions to National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) prohibiting it from launching new mustard seeds contracts till further directives are issued. No new positions will be allowed to be taken on running contracts. Only squaring up of positions will be permitted, according to SEBI. The directives will be put into immediate effect.
