SEBI Unclaimed Funds & Securities Consultation

Consultation Paper; Dated: 11.02.2025

SEBI has introduced a Consultation Paper on ‘Treatment of unclaimed funds and securities of clients lying with Trading Members (TMs)’. As of 31.01.2025, unclaimed client funds totalled around INR 323 Cr., and unclaimed securities stood at INR 182 Cr. To address this significant amount, SEBI has now proposed a mechanism for managing these unclaimed funds and securities and tracing the respective clients. Public comments are invited on the proposal by 04.03.2025.
