The SEBI (Ombudsman) Regulations, 2003 were introduced by the SEBI to provide for the establishment of the Ombudsman’s office for addressing investor grievances in securities and related matters.
Now, the SEBI has notified the SEBI (Ombudsman) (Repeal) Regulations, 2023. Upon commencement of these regulations, the SEBI (Ombudsman) Regulations, 2003 shall stand repealed. The repeal shall not impact previous actions or omissions taken under regulations. Further, penalties, punishments, investigations, legal proceedings, related to contraventions or offences committed under previous regulations will remain applicable.
