The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has launched a multilingual, AI-enabled public outreach initiative on a pilot basis to enhance investor awareness about the SEBI Check Tool and validated UPI handles.
The initiative aims to strengthen investor protection by promoting verification tools that help identify legitimate intermediaries and prevent fraud.
1. Collaboration with Generative AI Firm
The outreach initiative has been launched in collaboration with Sarvam, a generative AI company developing AI models tailored for Indian languages.
The collaboration leverages AI technology to:
- Deliver communication in multiple Indian languages
- Improve accessibility and inclusivity
- Enhance investor understanding across diverse regions
2. Purpose of the Outreach Initiative
The key objectives of the initiative are to:
- Increase awareness about the SEBI Check Tool
- Educate investors on the use of validated UPI handles for secure transactions
- Provide guidance through structured FAQs
- Promote safe investing practices and fraud prevention

As part of the pilot:
- A sample group of individual investors will receive informational calls
- The calls will provide:
