PR No. 47/2025; Dated: 26.07.2025
On the solemn occasion of the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Chairman of SEBI, Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, led a poignant wreath-laying ceremony at the SEBI Head Office located in BKC, Bandra, Mumbai. The ceremony served as a mark of deep respect and remembrance for the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the Kargil War in 1999. The event brought together SEBI officials and staff in collective tribute to the spirit of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism that defines this historic day.
The Chairman, along with other senior officials, offered floral tributes and observed a moment of silence to honor the fallen heroes. The solemn atmosphere reflected the profound gratitude and national pride felt by the SEBI community. The event was a reminder of the valour and dedication shown by our armed forces in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity under extreme conditions and adversity during the Kargil conflict.
Beyond its core mandate of regulating the financial markets, SEBI has consistently demonstrated its commitment to national service and societal values. Events like these reaffirm SEBI’s dedication to fostering a culture of respect, remembrance, and solidarity with India’s armed forces. It also highlights the organization’s efforts to bridge the gap between the financial ecosystem and the wider national and social responsibilities that come with being a public institution.
In line with this spirit, SEBI continues to promote initiatives that honor the contributions of veterans and support the larger defense and security community. The observance of Kargil Vijay Diwas at SEBI is not just a ceremonial act—it is a reflection of the institution’s ethos of unity, integrity, and service to the nation. By remembering the heroes of Kargil, SEBI renews its pledge to uphold the values they fought for—courage, commitment, and nation first.
