Qualified Institutional Buyers Status

SEBI Report 3; dated: 19.05.2023

SEBI has floated a consultation paper on the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) status of AIFs/VCFs and FVCIs. The proposal targets AIFs, VCFs, and FVCIs bypassing QIB regulations by investing in IPOs with limited investors from the same family/group. It is proposed that AIFs and VCFs, excluding those with 50% or more contributions from a single investor or investors from the same group, will be classified as QIBs. Public comments are invited till June 01, 2023.
