SEBI Clarifies That ‘Investor Education and Awareness’ Includes Financial Inclusion Initiatives as Approved by SEBI

Circular no. SEBI/HO/IMD/PoD1/P/CIR/2025/21; Dated: 20.02.2025

SEBI, vide the Master Circular dated June 27, 2024, on Mutual funds, directed AMCs to annually set aside at least 2 basis points on daily net assets within the maximum limit of total expense ratio for ‘Investor Education and Awareness’ initiatives. In this regard, SEBI clarified that initiatives under ‘Investor Education and Awareness’ include financial inclusion initiatives as may be approved by SEBI.
