RBI releases data about Sectoral Deployment of Bank Credit for the month of September 2022

RBI has released data about sectoral deployment of bank credit for the month of September 2022 accounting for about 93% of the total non-food credit deployed by all scheduled commercial banks. Some of the key highlights of the data are
(a) Credit to agriculture & allied activities registered an accelerated growth of 13.4% in Sept 2022.
(b) Credit growth to the services sector accelerated to 20.0% from 1.2% a year ago majorly driven by improved credit offtake to ‘NBFCs’ and ‘trade’ sectors.
