The Ministry of Finance has declared “Electronic Gold Receipt” as securities under the SCRA act 1956. “Electronic Gold Receipt” means an electronic receipt issued based on the deposit of underlying physical gold under regulations made by the Securities and Exchange Board of India under section 31 of the said Act.
