MCA issues clarification on holding of AGM through Video Conference or Other Audio-Visual Means

Circular no. 21/2021, Dated: 14-12-2021

The MCA has allowed companies to organize the AGMs in 2022 for the financial ending before/on 31.03.2022 through Video Conference (VC) or Other Audio-Visual Means (OAVM) as per respective due dates by 30-06-2022. The MCA further clarified that this circular should not be construed as conferring any extension of time for holding annual general meetings by the companies under the Companies Act, 2013. In September, MCA had allowed a 2 months extension to the deadline for companies to hold their AGM for the financial year ending March 31, 2021.
