India Opens Up 100% FDI Under Automatic Route in the Field of Satellite Component Manufacturing

The Union Cabinet has approved the amendment to the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) policy in the space sector. The satellite sub-sector has been divided into three different activities with defined limits for foreign investment in each such sector. Currently, FDI is permitted in the establishment and operation of satellites via Govt. approval route only. As per the amended FDI policy, 100% FDI is allowed under automatic route for the manufacturing of components and systems/sub-systems for satellites.
