Govt. specifies additional 15 days for purchase of ‘electoral bond’ in year of general elections of States/UT

The Ministry of Finance has notified the Electoral Bond (Amendment) Scheme, 2022 amending the Electoral Bond Scheme, 2018.

Paragraph 8(1) of the Bond Scheme provides the bonds under this Scheme shall be available for purchase by any person for 10 days each in January, April, July, and October. Sub-para (2) provides that an additional period of 30 days shall be specified by the Central Government in the year of general elections to the House of People.

A new sub-paragraph (3) has been inserted to Paragraph 8 which allows the Central Govt. to specify additional 15 days for the purchase of bonds in the year of general elections to the Legislative Assembly of States and Union Territories with Legislature.
