1. Central Government Recognises Shri Narayani (Kumbakonam) Nidhi Limited
The Central Government has officially declared ‘Shri Narayani (Kumbakonam) Nidhi Limited’ as a “Nidhi” company under sub-section (1) of section 406 of the Companies Act, 2013. This recognition grants the company the legal status required to operate as a mutual benefit society, primarily aimed at promoting the habit of thrift and savings among its members.
2. Legal Basis for Nidhi Company Declaration
Section 406 of the Companies Act, 2013 provides for the recognition and regulation of Nidhi companies by the Central Government. By issuing this declaration, the government confirms that Shri Narayani (Kumbakonam) Nidhi Limited meets the necessary conditions and operates with the intention of encouraging financial self-reliance through member-based deposit and loan activities.
3. Corporate Identity and Registration Details
Shri Narayani (Kumbakonam) Nidhi Limited is registered with Corporate Identification Number (CIN): U74999TN2017PLN120244. Incorporated in 2017, the company is structured as a public limited company and now falls under the regulatory purview of Nidhi Rules, 2014, which prescribe specific compliance obligations for such entities.
4. Operational Base in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu
The company’s registered office is located in Kumbakonam, a well-known town in Tamil Nadu. This regional presence will support its operations in serving the financial needs of its member base within the locality. With its new designation, the company is now empowered to carry out permitted financial activities such as accepting deposits and lending only to its members, in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines.
