China Imposes Additional Tariffs on Canadian Imports

China has announced additional tariffs on certain Canadian imports, effective 20-03-2025, as a response to Canada’s tariff measures. A 100% tariff will be levied on rapeseed oil, oil cake, and peas, and a 25% tariff will apply to aquatic products and pork. These tariffs will be added to existing rates, with no exemption available.

Australia Mandates Monthly GST Reporting for Non-Compliant Small Businesses-

From 01-04-2025, small businesses in Australia with poor GST compliance records will be required to report GST monthly, instead of quarterly. The Australian Taxation Office will notify affected businesses by March 2025, and businesses can request to revert to quarterly reporting after 12 months if compliance improves, and businesses may also opt for voluntary monthly reporting.
