RBI has issued guidelines regarding the procedure to be followed for changing the name of cooperative banks. Accordingly, cooperative banks desirous to change their names must approach Department of Supervision (DoS) of concerned Regional Office of RBI for grant of a no-objection certificate (NOC), clearly stating the reasons for such change. Further, approval of the General Body of bank must be mandatory when submitting such requests to RBI. These guidelines are effective from 30.10.2023
