The Central Government has designated the Additional Chief Secretary (IT), Department of Information & Technology, Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, as the authorised authority under Section 138 of the Income Tax Act. This allows the Delhi Government to access taxpayer information to identify eligible beneficiaries for its social welfare schemes.
