CBDT Notifies ‘National Mission for Clean Ganga’ for Sec. 10(46) Exemption

Sec. 10(46) Exemption

Notification No. 36/2024, dated 26-03-2024

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified the ‘National Mission for Clean Ganga’ for the purposes of clause (46) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. The exemption has been granted in respect of the following specified incomes:

a) Grants-in-Aid received from the Government of India; and

b) Interest earned on bank deposits

This notification shall be effective subject to certain conditions. Further, the exemption shall be available for the financial years 2020-2021, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023.
