Direct Tax Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme

Section 89(1)(e) of the Finance (No. 2) Act, 2024 empowers the Principal Chief Commissioner to notify the Designated Authority for the purposes of the Direct Tax Vivad Se Vishwas Scheme, 2024. Accordingly, a notification has been issued specifying the Designated Authority in various areas of Uttar Pradesh.

The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, UP (East), Lucknow, has notified the jurisdictional Principal Commissioners of Income-tax or Commissioners of Income-tax having their headquarters at Lucknow, Allahabad, Gorakhpur and Bareilly shall be the ‘Designated Authorities’ in respect of the declarants over whom jurisdiction is exercised.
