SEBI Launches Nationwide Investor Awareness Campaign
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has launched a nationwide investor awareness initiative titled ‘Jagruk Niveshak Surakshit Niveshak’. The campaign is aimed at cautioning investors about the growing number of securities market frauds that are being perpetrated through social media and online platforms.
Focus on Social Media-Driven Frauds
Through this campaign, SEBI seeks to highlight the risks posed by fraudulent schemes and misleading content circulating on platforms such as YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, and other social channels. By directly addressing these concerns, the regulator aims to protect retail investors and strengthen their ability to identify and avoid scams.
Broadcast on All India Radio Networks
The awareness campaign will be broadcast across All India Radio (AIR) networks, including FM Rainbow, FM Gold, and Vividh Bharati stations. This wide coverage ensures that SEBI’s message reaches a large and diverse audience across urban and rural India, using a trusted and accessible communication medium.
Chairman’s Address to Mark the Launch
The first session of the campaign will be delivered by SEBI Chairman Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey. Scheduled to air on August 15, 2025, this inaugural address underscores SEBI’s commitment to investor education and protection. By leveraging the reach of AIR, SEBI aims to build a culture of informed and vigilant investing among the public.
