INSURANCE SURVEYORS AND LOSS ASSESSORS (LICENSING, PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CODE OF CONDUCT) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 2013 - UPDATION OF SURVEYOR DATA FOR ONLINE LICENSING SYSTEM
This is to inform all the licensed surveyors and loss assessors and Trainees that IRDA Insurance Surveyors Regulations, 2000 have been amended and are notified in Official Gazette and placed on our website i.e. www.irda.gov.in for information of all public.
As per IRDA Insurance Surveyor (Amended) Regulations, 2013, Categorization is replaced by three tier Membership issued by IIISLA. The three levels of membership in the Institute are viz. Licentiate, Associate and Fellow.
The online licensing system is under development to include the changes incorporated in the IRDA Surveyor Regulations (Amended), 2013 viz. Membership details, Membership Category, additional Line of business (Crop Insurance) etc.
It may be noted that till such time online licensing system is developed to issue license on the basis of membership, the license issued in existing form i.e. with category A, B, C shall continue and considered valid. All existing surveyors are provided with a time limit of 6 months within which they can apply for membership with the IIISLA.
Further, it may be noted that IRDA shall come up with circular in respect of the following:
And modified license shall be issued based on the information and document that shall be submitted in the online licensing portal the details of which shall be provided in that circular that would be issued by the Authority shortly.
Further, it may be noted that the examination conducted by Insurance Institute of India (III) for Surveyor Pre Licensing will continue till such time IIISLA is geared up to conduct the examinations for which they have to file with IRDA calendar/training plans etc. and get same approved by IRDA prior to its implementation.
As regards, "Crop Insurance" which has been introduced as new line of business for surveyor licensing in the recently amended Surveyors regulations, the practical training of 12 months will be replaced by an alternate system of training, which will be introduced keeping in view the nature of business. The nature and period of training etc. would be notified by the Authority shortly.
The authority has already provided username and password to those existing surveyors whose licenses were due for renewal during the period May, 2013 to July, 2013.
The user name and password for those whose licenses expire during the period August, 2013 to October, 2013 will be provided shortly and the list would be displayed in the website.
Although Authority is receiving renewal applications from licensed surveyors by post/courier, and as the SURVEYOR ON LINE LICENSING MODULE is already operative now and Username and Password are being provided, their applications shall be processed only after the same is submitted ONLINE.
It is reiterated that to obtain Username & Password, you are required to send email to firstname.lastname@example.org. After obtaining the same, you may login to portal at www.irdabap.org.in to upload the renewal application.
All existing licensed surveyors are required to upload FORM 12 (for the last 5 years) by logging in to the ONLINE Portal on receipt of Username and Password, without fail including those whose licenses are already renewed and are in force. Without uploading of FORM 12 in the ONLINE System, the system shall not allow licensed surveyors to submit their application for upgradation/removal in restriction which will be notified and allowed through ONLINE System shortly.
The list of licensed surveyors (active/lapsed) will be displayed in the website www.irda.gov.in the next week.
All licensed surveyors are required to verify the information published and inform the Authority in case of any discrepancy/omission like name, address, category, department, expiry date, sole proprietary firm's name etc...within 10 days from the date of display along with copy of documents in support of the request for correction/rectification, failing which it would not be possible to rectify the same once the data is uploaded in the online system.
