What is Direct Tax? Taxes in India

Even though the working population of India enjoys the freedom, liberty and power that comes with a well rewarding job. This feeling comes to people at different times and through different channels.

However, two feelings unites all the working population of India. The taste of success being the first and the sadness noticing the amount isn't really what they were hoping for.

So why is that difference in the amount? What's the deduction for?
It's because Income Tax. It's a type of direct tax which the Government of India levies on the working population according to their income slabs.

What is Direct Tax?

To be precise, Direct Tax is the tax directly paid to the Government by the taxpayers. It is imposed directly by the Government and cannot be transferred to any other entity for payment.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes in India:

The direct taxation is overseen by CBDT or Central Board of Direct Taxes in India. It was formed as a result of Central Board of Revenue Act, 1924.

It is the hub and nexus of all the Direct Tax related news and enforcement. The body is headed by the Chairman and comprises of 6 members who are also Special Secretary to the Government of India
